How Much Does a Website Cost in Moore County, NC?
What a small business website costs in Moore County, NC, what changes the price, and the monthly costs to plan for after launch.
When you ask “how much does a website cost,” the answer is usually “it depends.” That answer is true, but it does not help you plan. This post gives price ranges from our own research of North Carolina designers, explains what makes the price go up or down, and shows the costs that continue after launch.
The short answer
There are three usual ways to get a website. Each one has a different price and gives you a different result.
- A do-it-yourself builder, such as Wix or Squarespace: about $200 to $600 a year. You get a template that you set up and write yourself.
- A small local designer: $600 to $2,500. One person or a small team builds the site for you. The quality and what is included change a lot from one designer to the next.
- An agency: $5,000 or more. Most North Carolina agencies do not take projects below $5,000. A team plans, writes, designs, and builds the site.
A builder costs the least money, but it costs the most of your time. A designer or an agency costs more at the start, but you get a site that someone has planned for your customers.
What North Carolina designers charge
To get real numbers, and not estimates, we collected the prices that North Carolina web design firms publish. We checked them on October 19, 2026.
Agencies. We recorded 141 North Carolina firms from the North Carolina, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro lists on Clutch, a directory where agencies list their prices. 105 of them show the smallest project that they take:
- 36% start at $1,000.
- 38% start at $5,000.
- 17% start at $10,000.
- 9% start at $25,000 or more.

The median minimum is $5,000, and 64% of firms do not take a project below that price. Of the 101 firms that show an hourly rate, 64% charge $100 to $199 an hour.
Moore County designers. We checked 10 web designers in Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Sanford, and nearby towns. Only 4 publish a price on their website:
- Sandhills Geeks: $600 to $1,100, with hosting from $28 a month.
- Carolina Web Design in Sanford: $1,250 for a home page and 2 landing pages, for nonprofits and new businesses.
- BizProMedia in Pinehurst: starts at $2,000.
- Image Design in Southern Pines: $2,500 for a one-page site, then $299 a year for hosting.

Builders. On yearly billing, Squarespace costs $19 to $49 a month and Wix costs $17 to $39 a month. That is about $200 to $600 a year before you pay for your time.
These numbers have limits. A minimum project size is the smallest job that a firm takes, not what its clients paid. Firms report their own prices, and few freelancers list on Clutch.
What changes the price
Two websites can look almost the same and have very different prices. These are the things that usually change the price most:
- The number of pages. A five page site costs less than a site with a page for each service.
- A page for each town you serve. If you work in Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and Aberdeen, a useful page for each town helps customers in those towns find you. Each page needs its own text, so each page adds to the price.
- Custom design or a template. A template is faster and costs less. A custom design fits your business better, but it takes more time.
- Forms and booking. A simple contact form is small work. A quote form with steps, or online booking, is more work.
- Who writes the text. If you write the text, the price is lower. If the designer writes it, the price is higher, but the text is usually written for search and for your customers.
- Photos. Your own photos of your team and your work build more trust than stock photos. A photographer adds to the cost.
The costs after launch
The price to build the site is not the full cost. Plan for these costs each year:
- A domain, such as yourbusiness.com, costs about $10 to $20 a year.
- Hosting keeps your site online. It is often part of a builder plan or a care plan.
- Updates and care keep the site safe and correct when your hours, services, or prices change.
- SEO helps customers find you on Google. It is not part of most website prices, and it is usually a monthly cost.
If a quote does not include these costs, ask about them before you agree to it.
What you get at the low end and at the high end
A low price is not always a bad choice. If you need a simple page with your phone number and hours, a builder can be enough.
A higher price makes sense when the website must bring in customers. Then you pay for planning: which pages your customers look for, what they need to see before they call, and how Google finds the site. A site that brings in one new customer each month can pay for itself fast.
The question to ask is not “what is the least I can pay.” The better question is “what must this website do for my business.”
Warning signs in a quote
Most designers are honest, but some quotes have problems that you can see before you sign:
- No list of what is included. A good quote says how many pages you get, who writes the text, and what happens after launch.
- You do not own your domain or site. If the domain is in the name of the designer, it can be hard to leave.
- A long contract that you cannot cancel. Monthly care is normal, but you should be able to stop it.
- Promises of “page one on Google in 30 days.” Nobody controls Google. An honest designer explains what helps you rank and how long it usually takes.
What Basewind charges
At Basewind, a simple website starts at $500. Hosting and care cost $50 to $100 a month. The final price depends on the number of pages, the features, and what your business needs. We agree on the work, the price, and the timeline before we start, so you know the cost before you pay anything.
For an example of a larger site, look at the Moore Cleaners website. It has a page for each service in each town, and a quote form with five steps. The first leads came through the site within one month of launch.

Questions about this topic
Do I own my website after it is built?
You should. Before you pay, make sure that the domain is in your name and that you can move the site to a different host if you leave. Some builders and agencies do not let you take the site with you.
Is there a monthly fee for a website?
Almost always. Every website needs a domain and hosting. Many businesses also pay for updates and care. At Basewind, hosting and care cost $50 to $100 a month, and the price depends on what your site needs.
How long does it take to build a website?
A simple site of a few pages can take one to three weeks. A larger site with a page for each service and town, or with a quote form, takes longer. The time it takes to get your text and photos ready is often the slowest part.
Can I start with a small website and add pages later?
Yes. Many businesses start with a home page, a services page, and a contact page. Then they add town pages, a quote form, or a blog when the business needs them. Ask for a site that is easy to grow before you start.
