Golf visitors, older homeowners, and businesses from nearby towns that compete for the same searches.
New residents every summer, and customers who compare every business before they call.
The youngest town in the area, with new neighborhoods along NC 5.
The county seat, where a few reviews can put an office at the top.
A fast growing village of young families, with almost no storefronts.
A gated community where reviews and referrals do the work of door hangers.
Some things are the same in every town here. They change how customers find you, before you think about which town you are in.
North Carolina towns cannot charge a privilege license tax since 2015, so there is no town business list to look you up in. Customers check your Google profile and directories, so your name, address, and phone number must match everywhere.
ZIP codes here are much larger than the towns. Carthage and Whispering Pines share ZIP 28327 and together cover less than 6% of it. Google looks at where you really work, so set your service area by town, not by ZIP.
Google lets a service area business hide its address and list the towns that it serves, up to about 2 hours of driving. Use your real business name with no town added, and do not use a mailbox address.
Visitors spent $901.4 million in Moore County in 2025, the 10th highest of the 100 counties in North Carolina. Reviews and Google Maps reach these customers, so they matter as much as searches from people who live here.
The same service needs a different plan in each town. These numbers show who lives in each one, and how much of its ZIP code the town covers.
| Town | ZIP | Town share of ZIP | Median age | Own their home | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pinehurst | 28374 | 80% | 60.6 | 85% | Older homeowners. Use large text, the phone number first, and short forms. |
| Southern Pines | 28387 | 62% | 38.7 | 57% | Many renters and new residents, who compare businesses before they call. |
| Aberdeen | 28315 | 17% | 35.8 | 59% | The youngest of the larger towns, and its ZIP reaches into Hoke County. |
| Carthage | 28327 | 4% | 44.7 | 82% | A small town in a very large ZIP, so the town name matters more than the ZIP. |
| Whispering Pines | 28327 | 2% | 37.2 | 86% | Young families who own their homes, in a village with almost no storefronts. |
| Seven Lakes | 27376 | 12% | 62.2 | 93% | Mail goes to West End, so customers search for both names. |

Yes. We also work with businesses in West End, Taylortown, Vass, Robbins, Cameron, Pinebluff, and the rest of Moore County. Taylortown has no ZIP code of its own, so its addresses show Pinehurst or West End, and we set up your service area to match where you really work.
Only for the towns where you really work and want customers. A useful town page talks about that town, such as its local rules or the questions that customers there ask. A page that only swaps the town name does not help you rank.
Not by itself. ZIP 28374 also covers parts of Taylortown, Southern Pines, and Aberdeen, and Google ranks local businesses by relevance, distance, and reviews together. A clear service area, a useful town page, and steady reviews matter more than the address.
Yes, as a service area business. You hide your home address, list the towns that you serve, and keep your real business name. Town rules apply too. In Pinehurst, a home business cannot show a sign that is visible from outside the house, so your Google profile and website do the work of a sign.
